Jeremy Clarkson is facing yet more hurdles as filming on the next season of Clarkson’s Farm is being ‘regularly interrupted’.
The third season of the Amazon Prime series was released a few months ago and became the second most-watched show of 2024 on all major streaming services in the UK.
The series follows former Top Gear star’s, 64, attempts to run his own 1,000-acre Oxfordshire farm, with the help of farm manager Kaleb Cooper, land agent Charlie Ireland, ‘head of security’ Gerald Cooper, and his partner Lisa Hogan.
A camera crew is currently on location filming for the upcoming fourth season, however has ‘been forced to stop’ several times.
In June it was revealed Jeremy had purchased a pub called The Windmill in Burford, Oxfordshire, which came after he was forced to shut down his restaurant at Diddly Squat.
However, cameras tracking the progress of his new venture has been disrupted by ‘giant military aircraft thundering overhead’.
Cameras keep having to stop rolling at the since renamed The Hawkstone Arms has some of the world’s biggest military transporters fly directly over on training exercises from Brize Norton, Britain’s biggest RAF base, which is just 1.5 miles away to the south, as reported by the MailOnline.
The constant military flyovers at the country inn have led locals to speculate that the star rushed into the £1m deal to buy it without realising just how close it is to Britain’s biggest military aircraft, the publication added.
Photos taken at the site show a camera crew attempting to shoot a segment for Clarkson’s Farm however having to stop because of the aircraft noise.
Jeremy was also seen standing pointing at the sky as a Boeing C-17 Globemaster III aircraft passed directly overhead just a few hundred feet above him.
One local, a regular in The Windmill before it closed and Clarkson purchased it, told the publication: ‘Everyone around here is speculating that he didn’t realise quite how close the planes come – or how low they are. And how deafeningly loud.
‘We’ve all read that he bought the pub in a rush – he was open about that. And it’d be just like Clarkson to only find out after he’d bought that he’s got Brize Norton as a neighbour.
‘His actual farm is something like ten miles away, so he’s maybe not twigged that plane noise is a bigger issue around here.’
Another local who witnessed the aircraft interrupting the filming said two planes had gone over last Wednesday within a few minutes of each other with the plan ‘immediately silencing everyone on set’.
They added that it ‘became obvious that filming was pointless’ and everyone was staring at the sky as the ‘colossal plane swept overhead’, with Jeremy ‘doing retake after retake’.
The local also said the noise was ‘terrifying’ and made people ‘instinctively duck’.
Although the pub, which is located about 10 miles from Diddly Squat, has plenty of potential, Jeremy recently joked about being shocked discovering it was a ‘dogging’ spot.
Sharing a clip of himself holding up a pair of discarded knickers he found near his pub on social media, he said: ‘Tell me you bought a pub on a dogging site without telling me you bought a pub on a dogging site.’
Jeremy bought the pub within minutes of meeting its original owner Jackie Walker and is set to use it to also sell his Hawkstone lager.
